MaxMax
This little tool limits the size of any maximized application (from any side), so it is possible to simulate always visible sidebar gadgets on Windows 7 (just as under Vista). I had problems with not working fly-outs of some gadgets when using Vista Sidebar on Windows 7. So I moved back to original Windows 7 Sidebar. The only problem is every maximized window will cover gadgets.

ArrangeVistaSidebar is a program that arranges the gadgets in the Windows Vista Sidebar. It was built as a workaround for a bug that puts gadgets in a random order, apparently after installing Vista SP2. It's developed in plain C compiled originally with VC6. After I decided migrate to VS2005 due to its MSI-based setup tool.
